The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicked off the 2026 season with an impressive 35-24 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. With both teams looking to establish momentum early, this matchup was crucial for setting the tone in a competitive conference. Baker Mayfield was the standout performer, throwing for 327 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the Buccaneers' offense effectively. Colbie Young also had a noteworthy game for Cincinnati, racking up 166 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap. Chase Brown contributed on the ground for the Bengals, tallying 73 rushing yards, yet the Buccaneers' aerial attack proved too potent. Defensively, Vita Vea was a force for Tampa Bay, recording four total tackles and two sacks that disrupted the Bengals' rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when Vea's pressure led to a crucial turnover, allowing the Buccaneers to extend their lead and maintain control. Despite a valiant effort from Kyle Dugger, who snagged two interceptions for Cincinnati, the Buccaneers' defense held firm when it mattered most, securing the win.
