In a commanding performance, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals 31-17 in Week 5 of the 2026 season, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The Lions demonstrated their offensive prowess, while the Cardinals struggled to keep pace, leading to a decisive victory for Detroit. Jared Goff led the way for the Lions, throwing for 257 yards and orchestrating the offense with precision. Jahmyr Gibbs added a strong ground game, rushing for 97 yards, while Amon-Ra St. Brown was a favorite target, racking up 88 receiving yards. Detroit's balanced attack proved too much for Arizona to handle throughout the game. Defensively, the Lions made their mark with a pivotal interception by Chuck Clark, which halted a potential scoring drive from the Cardinals and shifted momentum. Despite Andrew Wingard's standout performance with nine tackles for Arizona, the Lions' defense, combined with their efficient offense, sealed the game. Walter Nolen III's 1.5 sacks showcased Arizona's effort, but it wasn't enough to overcome Detroit's strong overall team performance.
