In a thrilling Week 5 matchup, the New York Giants narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 28-21, keeping their momentum alive in the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game with high hopes, but it was the Giants who emerged victorious, solidifying their position in the playoff race. Jaxson Dart led the Giants' offense with an impressive 260 passing yards, while Cam Skattebo showcased his prowess on the ground with 120 rushing yards. Malik Nabers was a key target for Dart, racking up 99 receiving yards and providing crucial catches throughout the game. Jayden Daniels kept the Commanders competitive, throwing for two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win. The game's turning point came in the second half when the Giants' defense stepped up to stifle the Commanders' attempts to rally back. Although Sonny Styles recorded eight tackles for Washington, the Giants' ability to maintain pressure and control the clock ultimately sealed their victory. With Braden Fiske contributing a sack, the defensive efforts were enough to hold off Washington's late-game surge, ensuring the Giants left the field with a hard-fought win.
