In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Arizona Cardinals with a final score of 42-31. This victory solidifies the 49ers' position as one of the early contenders in the 2026 season, showcasing their offensive firepower and tactical prowess against a division rival. Brock Purdy was the standout performer for San Francisco, throwing for 305 yards and two touchdowns, effectively leading the charge. Christian McCaffrey complemented the passing game with a powerful ground attack, racking up 114 rushing yards, while Garrett Wilson emerged as a dominant receiving threat, amassing 160 yards through the air. The combination of a strong passing game and an effective run attack proved too much for the Cardinals to handle. Defensively, the 49ers made critical plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. Alfred Collins was a force up front, recording two sacks that disrupted the Cardinals' rhythm, while Deommodore Lenoir's interception provided a crucial turnover that halted Arizona's comeback efforts. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Lenoir's pick set up a touchdown drive, extending San Francisco's lead and ultimately sealing the win.
