In a thrilling season opener, the Minnesota Vikings topped the Green Bay Packers with a final score of 21-14, kicking off their 2026 campaign on a high note. With both teams eager to establish dominance in the NFC North, the Vikings managed to hold off a late-game surge from Green Bay to secure the victory. Kyler Murray was the standout performer for Minnesota, throwing for 146 yards and connecting on three touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to find the end zone. Meanwhile, Mike Washington Jr. contributed significantly on the ground, racking up 71 rushing yards, while Christian Watson led the Packers' receiving corps with 45 yards, though it wasn’t enough to overcome the Vikings' strong offensive showing. Defensively, the Vikings were a force to be reckoned with, highlighted by Calais Campbell's two sacks, which disrupted the Packers' rhythm throughout the game. Isaiah Rodgers Sr. also played a key role, leading the team with three total tackles. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Minnesota's defense stymied a critical drive from Green Bay, ultimately sealing the win and setting the tone for the rest of the season.
