In a decisive Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season, the Detroit Lions took down the Buffalo Bills with a final score of 38-24. This victory not only boosts the Lions' confidence early in the season but also sets the tone for their offensive aspirations moving forward. Jared Goff showcased his prowess, throwing for 258 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Lions' explosive offense. His top target, Jameson Williams, made a significant impact with 134 receiving yards, consistently finding ways to get open and stretch the field. Meanwhile, James Cook III managed to keep the Bills competitive on the ground with 95 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Detroit's scoring. Defensively, Aidan Hutchinson emerged as a game-changer for the Lions, recording two sacks that disrupted Buffalo’s rhythm and pressured their quarterback throughout the game. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Hutchinson's sack led to a turnover on downs, allowing Detroit to capitalize and extend their lead just before halftime. The Lions' defense, coupled with their offensive firepower, proved too much for the Bills to overcome.
