In a tightly contested battle, the Cleveland Browns defeated the New Orleans Saints 16-10 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but the Browns managed to secure a crucial victory on the road. Shedeur Sanders led the Browns' offense with 224 passing yards, showcasing his arm strength and decision-making throughout the game. Meanwhile, Tyler Shough contributed a touchdown for the Saints, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Cleveland’s efficiency. Travis Etienne Jr. was the standout on the ground for New Orleans, rushing for 87 yards, while Jordyn Tyson provided a reliable receiving option with 65 yards. Defensively, the Browns made their mark with Jared Verse dominating the pass rush, tallying 2.5 sacks that disrupted the Saints' offensive rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Verse's relentless pressure forced Shough into a critical mistake, leading to a turnover that allowed Cleveland to run down the clock and seal the victory. Justin Reid's strong performance for New Orleans with six tackles kept the game close, but ultimately it was the Browns' defense that made the difference.
