The New York Jets topped the Detroit Lions 29-20 in a tightly contested Week 3 matchup of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to establish momentum early in the season, but it was the Jets who came out on top, securing a crucial victory on the road. Jared Goff led the Lions with an impressive performance, throwing for 299 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers. However, it was Breece Hall's dominant rushing display, racking up 120 yards, and Omar Cooper Jr.'s reliable hands with 107 receiving yards that propelled the Jets to victory. The balanced offensive attack kept the Lions' defense on their heels throughout the game. Defensively, the Jets made crucial plays at key moments, with Andre Cisco's three interceptions proving to be game-changing. David Bailey also contributed significantly, recording two sacks that disrupted Goff's rhythm. The turning point came in the second half when Cisco's interception halted a potential Lions drive, allowing the Jets to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win.
