In a tightly contested Wildcard Round matchup, the Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Houston Texans 21-13, securing their place in the next phase of the playoffs. With both teams vying for a shot at the championship, this victory was crucial for the Raiders as they look to continue their postseason run. Fernando Mendoza shone brightly for the Raiders, throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. His connection with Dont'e Thornton Jr., who racked up 88 receiving yards, proved pivotal in keeping the Texans’ defense on their heels. Meanwhile, Houston’s David Montgomery made a strong impression on the ground, accumulating 90 rushing yards but ultimately fell short of igniting a comeback. The defensive performance from Las Vegas was instrumental in clinching the win, highlighted by Taron Johnson's eight total tackles, which helped stifle Houston's offensive efforts. With both teams showcasing their strengths, it was Las Vegas that ultimately executed when it mattered most.
