In a thrilling Week 13 showdown, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the New York Giants with a final score of 36-30. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the 49ers who emerged victorious, solidifying their position in the postseason race. Brock Purdy led the 49ers' offensive charge, throwing for two touchdowns and helping the team accumulate 36 points. Christian McCaffrey was a force on the ground, rushing for 103 yards, while the Giants' Jaxson Dart put up a solid performance with 242 passing yards, but ultimately fell short in the high-scoring affair. Malik Nabers also made his mark for New York, recording 90 receiving yards. The 49ers’ defense played a crucial role in the outcome, led by Fred Warner, who tallied eight total tackles, and Dre Greenlaw, who contributed 1.5 sacks. The game turned in the fourth quarter when a critical stop by San Francisco's defense allowed them to maintain their slim lead, forcing the Giants to settle for a field goal instead of a potential game-winning touchdown. This pivotal moment underscored San Francisco's resilience as they held off the Giants in a tightly contested battle.
