In a key matchup of the 2026 season, the Arizona Cardinals topped the San Francisco 49ers 27-17, securing a vital victory as they look to establish themselves in the NFC West. Both teams entered the game eager to solidify their standing early in the season, but it was Arizona that seized the moment. Arizona's offense was led by quarterback Justin Fields, who threw for a touchdown while also contributing to the ground game. Jeremiyah Love was the standout performer on the ground, racking up 109 rushing yards and providing a significant boost to the Cardinals’ offensive efforts. Meanwhile, San Francisco's Brock Purdy managed 147 passing yards but struggled to find the end zone, leaving the 49ers' offense wanting. Defensively, Zah Frazier was the star for Arizona, making crucial plays with two interceptions and three total tackles, which were pivotal in shifting momentum. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Frazier's second interception halted a potential scoring drive, allowing the Cardinals to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win. The 49ers' inability to capitalize on their opportunities, despite a strong effort from Nick Bosa, who recorded a sack, proved costly in this contest.
