In a stunning display of dominance, the New York Giants cruised to a 58-21 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 of the 2026 season. The Giants set the tone for the year with a commanding performance, showcasing their offensive prowess right out of the gate. Fran Tarkenton was the star of the show, throwing for an impressive 307 yards and five touchdowns, making him a nightmare for the Cowboys' defense. Running back B. Jacobs added to the onslaught with a staggering 188 rushing yards, consistently breaking through the line and keeping the chains moving. The Cowboys’ Zeke Elliott did his best to keep pace with 102 receiving yards, but it was clear the Giants were in control. On the defensive side, the Giants were relentless, with Lawrence Taylor leading the charge with two sacks and Tyrique Stevenson Sr. snagging an interception. The turning point came early in the second quarter when the Giants scored back-to-back touchdowns, effectively putting the game out of reach for the Cowboys. Dane Belton's four total tackles helped solidify the Giants' defensive efforts, as they stifled any hopes of a Dallas comeback.
