In a tense Week 18 showdown, the Detroit Lions topped the Green Bay Packers 20-13, securing their playoff spot in the process. With this victory, the Lions not only solidified their season but also dealt a significant blow to the Packers' postseason hopes. Trey Lance led the charge for Detroit, throwing for an impressive 277 yards and connecting on one touchdown pass. Amon-Ra St. Brown was his primary target, racking up 109 receiving yards and playing a crucial role in the Lions' offensive success. Despite a solid effort from the Packers' Josh Jacobs, who managed 46 rushing yards, Detroit's passing game proved to be the difference-maker. Defensively, the Lions held strong against the Packers, limiting their scoring opportunities and forcing key turnovers. The game’s turning point came late in the third quarter when the Lions' defense stifled a potential scoring drive, allowing Detroit to maintain their lead. While Alijah Huzzie led the Packers with seven tackles and Collin Oliver registered a sack, it was the Lions' resilience that ultimately secured their victory.
