In a dominating season opener, the Dallas Cowboys cruised to a 49-13 victory over the Washington Commanders. With both teams looking to set the tone for the 2027 season, the Cowboys showcased their offensive prowess while the Commanders struggled to keep pace. C.J. Stroud was the star of the show for Dallas, throwing for an impressive 360 yards and six touchdowns, marking a sensational start to the season. His favorite target, Alec Pierce, racked up 114 receiving yards, consistently finding space in the Commanders' secondary. Meanwhile, Bijan Robinson led Washington's ground game, but his 8 rushing yards were far from enough to challenge the Cowboys' high-flying offense. Defensively, Dallas made its presence felt with a key interception by Jakorian Bennett and a sack from Nick Cross, both contributing to the pressure on the Commanders' offense. The game's turning point came early in the second quarter when Stroud connected for two quick touchdowns, putting the Cowboys ahead 28-0 and establishing a commanding lead that Washington could never recover from. As the Cowboys look to build on this momentum, the Commanders will need to regroup after this tough loss.
