In a hard-fought battle for the AFC crown, the Miami Dolphins narrowly defeated the New York Jets 17-7, securing their spot in the Super Bowl. The stakes could not have been higher, as both teams aimed for a championship berth in the 2026 season conference championship matchup. Jonathan Taylor was the standout performer for the Dolphins, racking up an impressive 188 rushing yards, proving to be the backbone of Miami's offense. Taylen Green of the Jets showcased his skills as well, passing for 164 yards, but it was not enough to overcome the Dolphins' strong running game. Malik Nabers led the Jets in receiving with 64 yards, but the Jets struggled to find the end zone consistently. Defensively, Miami's Mory Bamba made a crucial impact with a key interception that shifted momentum in the Dolphins' favor. The Jets’ defense, led by Markquese Bell's four total tackles, kept the game competitive, but Miami's ability to control the clock with their rushing attack ultimately sealed the victory. The turning point came late in the second quarter when the Dolphins scored on a long drive, putting them ahead for good as they held off the Jets in the second half.
