In a decisive Week 12 matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the Chicago Bears with a final score of 31-14, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The win was crucial for the Lions as they continue to battle for a favorable seed in the postseason, while the Bears struggled to maintain momentum in a challenging season. Jahmyr Gibbs was the standout performer for Detroit, racking up an impressive 184 rushing yards and demonstrating his explosive speed and agility on multiple occasions. Quarterback Jared Goff managed the game effectively, throwing for one touchdown, while Caleb Williams of the Bears led his team with 184 passing yards but could not find the end zone. D'Andre Swift also made an impact in the receiving game, catching passes for 98 yards as he and Gibbs provided a formidable offensive duo. Defensively, the Lions were relentless, with Isaiah Simmons leading the charge with six total tackles and Aidan Hutchinson contributing a sack that disrupted the Bears' rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when Hutchinson's pressure led to a critical interception by Devin Bush, shifting the momentum firmly in favor of Detroit. This defensive stand not only stifled Chicago's scoring opportunities but also fueled the Lions' offensive surge, ultimately sealing the game.
