In a high-scoring affair, the Houston Texans topped the Los Angeles Chargers 50-29 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. The victory keeps the Texans firmly in the playoff hunt, while the Chargers struggle to find consistency on both sides of the ball. C.J. Stroud led the charge for Houston, throwing for four touchdowns and demonstrating his ability to stretch the field. Woody Marks contributed significantly on the ground with 77 rushing yards, while the Chargers' Justin Herbert threw for an impressive 505 yards, showcasing his passing prowess. Quentin Johnston shined as well, racking up 279 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Texans' offensive firepower. Defensively, the Texans made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Will Anderson Jr. recorded a sack that disrupted the Chargers' rhythm, while Reed Blankenship's interception proved pivotal in sealing the game. Genesis Smith of the Chargers did his best to keep the defense engaged with seven total tackles, but it was the Texans' ability to capitalize on turnovers that ultimately propelled them to victory.
