The New Orleans Saints topped the Carolina Panthers 28-17 in a Week 2 showdown of the 2028 season, solidifying their early lead in the division. With both teams looking to establish momentum, this victory was crucial for the Saints as they aim for a strong start this year. Cade Klubnik led the Saints' offensive charge, throwing for 190 yards and two touchdown passes, showcasing his growing chemistry with the receiving corps. Jahmyr Gibbs was a dominant force on the ground, racking up 140 rushing yards, while Christian Watson contributed significantly with 80 receiving yards, making key plays that kept the chains moving. Defensively, the Saints managed to contain the Panthers' offense effectively, limiting their scoring opportunities. The turning point came in the second half when a critical interception by New Orleans shifted the momentum, allowing the Saints to capitalize and extend their lead. Darnell Jackson Jr. of the Panthers had a standout performance with a sack, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Saints' offensive firepower.
