The Denver Broncos opened their 2028 season with a hard-fought 30-23 victory over the Houston Texans, showcasing their resilience in a tightly contested matchup. Both teams aimed to set the tone for the season, but it was the Broncos who ultimately came out on top, starting their campaign with a win at home. Offensively, Bo Nix led the way for Denver, throwing for two touchdowns while also keeping the chains moving with precision passing. RJ Harvey was a standout on the ground, racking up an impressive 134 rushing yards, providing the Broncos with a strong ground game that kept the Texans' defense on their heels. Theo Johnson added to the offensive explosion with 69 receiving yards, helping to stretch the field and open up running lanes. Defensively, the Broncos made their mark with a relentless pass rush, highlighted by Nik Bonitto's three sacks that disrupted C.J. Stroud's rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Bonitto's pressure led to an ill-timed interception by Stroud, allowing the Broncos to secure their lead. The Texans' defense, although solid with Henry To'oTo'o leading the team in tackles, couldn't contain the balanced offensive attack of Denver when it mattered most.
