In a thrilling Week 2 matchup of the 2028 season, the New York Jets narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 27-21. Both teams entered the game looking to secure their first win of the season, but it was the Jets who emerged victorious on their home turf, showcasing their resilience and determination. J.J. McCarthy led the Vikings' offense with an impressive performance, throwing for 309 yards and two touchdowns. However, it was Breece Hall who stole the show for the Jets, dominating the ground game with 120 rushing yards, while Justin Jefferson kept the Vikings in contention with a stellar 145 receiving yards. Despite McCarthy's efforts, the Vikings struggled to match the offensive balance displayed by New York. Defensively, the Jets made crucial plays that turned the tide in their favor. Javon Bullard led the team with six total tackles, while Azareye'h Thomas secured an interception that halted a potential scoring drive from Minnesota. The decisive moment came when Dallas Turner of the Vikings registered 1.5 sacks, pressuring the Jets' quarterback but ultimately failing to shift momentum back to his team, allowing New York to hold off the Vikings for the win.
