In a tightly contested matchup, the Buffalo Bills held off the Detroit Lions with a final score of 17-6 in Week 6 of the 2028 season. Both teams entered the game seeking a crucial victory, but it was the Bills who emerged victorious, maintaining their strong position in the playoff race. Josh Allen guided the Bills' offense, throwing for a touchdown while accumulating 170 passing yards. However, it was James Cook III who shined on the ground, racking up 90 rushing yards to help establish the run game. Jared Goff, despite a strong performance with 239 passing yards, struggled to find the end zone, leaving the Lions unable to keep pace. Defensively, Aidan Hutchinson was a standout for the Lions, recording eight total tackles and four sacks, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide. The turning point came when DaRon Bland intercepted Goff late in the fourth quarter, sealing the game for Buffalo and allowing them to maintain control. The Bills' defense proved resilient, limiting the Lions' scoring opportunities and solidifying their victory.
