In a tightly contested matchup, the Pittsburgh Steelers held off the Houston Texans with a final score of 27-20, securing their second consecutive win of the season. With playoff implications looming, this Week 5 clash showcased both teams' determination to establish their position in the league. Garrett Nussmeier was the star of the night for Pittsburgh, throwing for an impressive 322 yards and three touchdowns. His connection with Eugene Wilson III proved pivotal, as Wilson amassed 156 receiving yards, consistently finding space in the Texans' secondary to make critical catches. Despite a solid rushing performance from Jaylen Warren, who led Houston with 46 yards on the ground, the Texans struggled to match the Steelers’ offensive rhythm. Defensively, the Texans showed resilience, with Kamari Lassiter leading the way with seven total tackles and Danielle Hunter making his presence felt with two sacks. However, the Steelers' defense managed to hold strong when it mattered most, particularly in the second half as they stifled a late Texans drive that could have shifted the game's momentum. The pivotal moment came when Pittsburgh forced a turnover on downs, allowing them to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
