In a tightly contested matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 23-17 in Week 8 of the 2028 season. The stakes were high as both teams looked to solidify their playoff positioning, and the Jaguars emerged victorious, showcasing their resilience on the road. Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars with a strong performance, throwing for 259 yards and effectively managing the game. Patrick Mahomes kept the Chiefs competitive with two touchdown passes, while Jaylen Wright added a solid ground game with 65 rushing yards. Zachariah Branch was a standout in the receiving corps, racking up 91 yards and providing key plays when it mattered most. On the defensive side, the Chiefs struggled to contain the Jaguars' offense down the stretch, which proved pivotal in the game's outcome. Kansas City's Nick Bolton registered 10 total tackles, but it was Keldric Faulk's two sacks that kept the pressure on Lawrence. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Jacksonville's defense held strong, preventing a potential game-tying drive from Mahomes and sealing the victory for the Jaguars.
