In a commanding performance, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Seattle Seahawks 38-22 in Week 5 of the 2026 season. This victory solidified the 49ers’ position as a formidable force in the league, while the Seahawks faced a tough challenge at home, marking a significant moment in their campaign. Brock Purdy shone brightly for San Francisco, throwing for five touchdowns and leading the offense with precision. Christian McCaffrey added a strong ground game with 96 rushing yards, and despite the Seahawks trailing, Sam Darnold kept pace with 316 passing yards and Cooper Kupp's impressive 115 receiving yards. The 49ers' offense proved too potent for Seattle to contain. The 49ers' defense played a pivotal role in this matchup, with Deommodore Lenoir snagging an interception that shifted momentum in favor of San Francisco. Although Seattle's Ernest Jones IV recorded nine total tackles and Leonard Williams contributed a sack, it was the 49ers' ability to capitalize on key defensive plays that ultimately decided the game. San Francisco's defensive resilience ensured they held off any late-game attempts by the Seahawks to close the gap.
