The Buffalo Bills kicked off the 2026 season with a solid 31-21 victory over the Houston Texans, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting year. In a matchup that featured two competitive teams, the Bills managed to hold off late efforts from the Texans to secure the win. Josh Allen led the way for Buffalo, throwing for 239 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his ability to command the offense effectively. While the Texans' David Montgomery impressed with 107 rushing yards, it was Nico Collins who shone in the receiving game, racking up 145 yards, keeping Houston in striking distance throughout the contest. Defensively, the Texans made their mark with Kamari Lassiter recording eight tackles and an interception, but it was Danielle Hunter's sack that proved crucial in stalling a Buffalo drive. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Allen orchestrated a drive that culminated in a touchdown, effectively sealing the game and denying the Texans any chance to mount a comeback.
