In a tightly contested matchup, the New Orleans Saints narrowly defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-13 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications hanging in the balance, both teams fought hard, but it was the Saints who emerged victorious, solidifying their position in the postseason race. Leading the charge for New Orleans was quarterback Tyler Shough, who threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to make big plays when it mattered most. Running back Travis Etienne Jr. added a powerful ground game with 92 rushing yards, while wideout Chris Olave was a reliable target, racking up 93 receiving yards. This offensive trio proved too much for the Steelers to handle throughout the game. Defensively, Cameron Jordan was a standout for the Saints, recording seven total tackles and one sack, disrupting the Steelers' offensive rhythm. The key turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Jordan's sack led to a crucial stop, forcing Pittsburgh to abandon their momentum and ultimately sealing the victory for New Orleans. The Saints' defense performed admirably, ensuring that their lead held firm as the clock wound down.
