The San Francisco 49ers dominated the Washington Commanders with a final score of 37-7 in Week 6 of the 2026 season. This victory further solidifies the 49ers' position as a formidable contender in the league, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess. Brock Purdy was the standout performer for San Francisco, throwing for an impressive 347 yards and three touchdowns. His connection with Deebo Samuel Sr. was particularly lethal, as Samuel racked up 119 receiving yards, consistently moving the chains and finding the end zone. Meanwhile, Jacory Croskey-Merritt led the ground attack for the Commanders with 127 rushing yards, but his efforts were overshadowed by San Francisco's offensive explosion. Defensively, the 49ers made their mark by consistently pressuring Washington's offense. Osa Odighizuwa recorded a sack, while Marques Sigle made a significant impact with two interceptions, halting any momentum the Commanders tried to build. The turning point came in the second quarter when Purdy connected for a touchdown following a crucial interception, allowing the 49ers to seize control and never look back.
