In a decisive Week 5 matchup, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took down the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 38-24. This victory not only boosts Tampa Bay's momentum but also solidifies their position in the competitive landscape of the 2026 season. Baker Mayfield orchestrated a standout performance, throwing for 313 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his targets effectively. Chris Godwin Jr. was the primary beneficiary of Mayfield's precision, racking up an impressive 155 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Dallas struggled offensively, with Javonte Williams leading the ground game but only managing 65 rushing yards. The Buccaneers' defense played a crucial role in the outcome, highlighted by Rueben Bain Jr.'s sack that disrupted Dallas's rhythm at key moments. Although the Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown recorded a team-high seven tackles, Tampa Bay's relentless pressure and timely interceptions, including one from Cobie Durant, ultimately turned the tide in favor of the Buccaneers. The turning point came in the second quarter when Mayfield connected with Godwin for a touchdown, giving Tampa a lead they would not relinquish.
