In a tightly contested matchup, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Kansas City Chiefs 17-7 in Week 16 of the 2026 season. The victory keeps the 49ers firmly in the playoff race, while the Chiefs will have to regroup as they look to secure their postseason positioning. Brock Purdy led the 49ers’ offense with an efficient 207 passing yards, while Christian McCaffrey dominated on the ground, racking up 107 rushing yards. Mike Evans also made a significant impact, contributing 80 receiving yards, showcasing the depth and versatility of San Francisco’s offensive attack. Defensively, Nick Bosa was a standout performer, registering 1.5 sacks and disrupting the Chiefs' rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Bosa's pressure forced a crucial turnover on downs, allowing the 49ers to maintain their lead and seal the victory. The Chiefs’ lack of offensive production, highlighted by just one passing touchdown from Patrick Mahomes, ultimately proved too much to overcome.
