The Green Bay Packers narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings 24-17 in a closely contested Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to start the season on a high note, but it was the Packers who ultimately emerged victorious, showcasing their resilience as they held off a late-game surge from Minnesota. Jaxson Dart of the Vikings put on an impressive performance, passing for 268 yards and throwing for one touchdown, while Parker Washington was a standout in the receiving game, racking up 149 yards. However, it was Jeremiyah Love's solid ground game for the Packers, with 80 rushing yards, that helped establish an offensive rhythm and kept the chains moving when it mattered most. Defensively, the game was highlighted by Devin Bush's relentless play, leading all players with 12 total tackles, but it was the Packers' Kevin Winston Jr. who made his presence felt with a half-sack, contributing to pressure on the Vikings' quarterback. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Green Bay's defense tightened up, allowing them to maintain their lead and secure the win.
