The San Francisco 49ers topped the Los Angeles Chargers 30-22 in a crucial Week 15 matchup of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff positioning with just two weeks left in the regular season. The Chargers, fighting for a wildcard spot, put up a valiant effort but ultimately fell short against a resilient 49ers squad. Lamar Jackson led the way for the Chargers, throwing for 257 yards and a touchdown while also showcasing his dual-threat capability. Omarion Hampton contributed significantly on the ground with 81 rushing yards, while Marvin Harrison Jr. emerged as a standout receiver, racking up 108 yards through the air. Despite their offensive efforts, it wasn’t enough to overcome the 49ers’ balanced attack. Defensively, the 49ers made their mark with Devin Lloyd recording a team-high eight tackles and Dorance Armstrong providing pressure with two sacks. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Armstrong's second sack led to a crucial turnover, allowing the 49ers to extend their lead and ultimately secure the victory. Both teams showed flashes of brilliance, but San Francisco's defensive prowess proved decisive in the end.
