In a high-scoring affair, the Indianapolis Colts topped the Washington Commanders 48-37 in Week 4 of the 2026 season. This victory keeps the Colts in contention for a playoff spot, while the Commanders face challenges in their pursuit of a winning record. Baker Mayfield delivered a stellar performance for the Commanders, racking up 436 passing yards and throwing four touchdown passes. However, it was Trey Benson who stole the show for the Colts, amassing an impressive 336 rushing yards, proving to be a relentless force on the ground. Meanwhile, Terry McLaurin contributed significantly for Washington with 202 receiving yards, keeping the game competitive until the final whistle. Defensively, the Colts made their mark with Jihaad Campbell recording two sacks, helping to disrupt Mayfield's rhythm. The turning point came late in the third quarter when the Colts' defense stepped up, forcing a crucial turnover that shifted momentum firmly in their favor. While Quentin Lake led the Commanders with nine tackles, it wasn’t enough to halt the Colts' relentless offensive assault.
