The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Chicago Bears 24-18 in a closely contested matchup that showcased both teams' playoff aspirations in the early weeks of the 2026 season. With this win, the Vikings improve their record to 2-0, while the Bears fall to 1-1, making every game crucial as they look to solidify their standing in the division. Sam Darnold led the Vikings' offense effectively, tossing a touchdown pass and managing the game well, while C.J. Stroud racked up an impressive 253 passing yards for the Bears, showcasing his potential. On the ground, Javonte Williams contributed with 63 rushing yards, but it was Jauan Jennings who stood out in the receiving corps, posting 89 receiving yards and keeping the Bears competitive throughout the game. Defensively, Fred Warner was a standout for Minnesota, registering a team-high 10 tackles, which helped stymie the Bears' momentum at key moments. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Vikings' defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs that sealed the victory and allowed them to run out the clock. Despite Dre'Mont Jones' strong performance with 2.5 sacks for Chicago, it ultimately wasn't enough to turn the tide in their favor.
