In a commanding performance, the New Orleans Saints defeated the Detroit Lions 38-0 in the Divisional Round of the 2026 season. With this victory, the Saints not only advanced to the next stage of the playoffs but did so with a display of both offensive prowess and defensive dominance that left the Lions reeling. Leading the charge for the Saints was quarterback Caleb Williams, who threw for 109 yards and a touchdown. Quinshon Judkins was a force on the ground, racking up 102 rushing yards, while the receiving corps saw Juwan Johnson leading for Detroit with 53 yards, but ultimately, the Lions couldn't find the end zone. The Saints' balanced attack proved too much for Detroit to handle throughout the game. Defensively, the Saints were relentless, with Greg Rousseau recording two sacks and Benjamin Morrison snagging two interceptions, which effectively stifled any momentum the Lions hoped to generate. The turning point came early in the second half when Morrison's second interception set up a quick touchdown, extending New Orleans' lead and firmly placing the game out of reach for Detroit. With the Saints' defense applying constant pressure, the Lions struggled to respond, sealing their fate in this lopsided playoff matchup.
