In a decisive Week 18 matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars topped the Indianapolis Colts with a final score of 35-21, solidifying their position as playoff contenders. With the stakes high, the Jaguars showcased their offensive prowess, leaving the Colts scrambling to keep pace. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza was the standout performer, throwing for 332 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Jaguars' offensive charge. Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. also made an impact, racking up an impressive 198 receiving yards, while TreVeyon Henderson contributed on the ground with 55 rushing yards. Together, they formed a formidable trio that propelled Jacksonville to victory. Defensively, the Jaguars were anchored by Dallas Turner, who recorded a crucial sack that disrupted the Colts' rhythm. Although the Colts' Drue Tranquill led the game in tackles with eight, it was the Jaguars' timely defensive plays that ultimately shifted the momentum. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Mendoza connected with Thomas for a touchdown, which not only extended their lead but also demoralized the Colts' defense, sealing the deal for Jacksonville.
