In a thrilling Week 14 showdown, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Arizona Cardinals with a final score of 40-28, solidifying their playoff positioning as the season nears its conclusion. Both teams came into the game eager to secure a crucial victory, but it was the 49ers who ultimately emerged victorious. Big D Randy of the Cardinals put on a spectacular performance, throwing for 355 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to keep the game competitive. However, it was Christian McCaffrey who led the charge for San Francisco, rushing for 134 yards and providing a vital balance to their offensive attack. Pete Crow-Armstrong also shone for the Cardinals with 209 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 49ers' scoring barrage. The 49ers' defense made key plays that shifted the momentum in their favor, highlighted by Mike Sainristil's crucial interception that halted a promising Cardinals drive. Ryan Shazier Jr. led the defense with five total tackles, helping to contain Arizona's explosive offense. The turning point came late in the third quarter when San Francisco capitalized on that interception, driving down the field to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win.
