In a crucial Week 12 matchup, the Chicago Bears defeated the Minnesota Vikings 24-14, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The victory not only boosts the Bears' confidence but also keeps them in contention as the season approaches its final stretch. Chicago's Juan Hardin showcased his passing prowess, racking up 238 yards and leading the offense effectively. His connection with Chris Bell, who recorded 98 receiving yards, was instrumental in moving the chains and controlling the game tempo. Meanwhile, Minnesota's Jack Hettsfield managed to throw two touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Bears' offensive efficiency. Defensively, Chicago's Brandon Cisse was a standout performer, contributing with six total tackles and an interception that shifted the momentum in the Bears' favor. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Cisse's interception set up a quick touchdown drive, allowing Chicago to take a commanding lead that they would not relinquish. Despite a strong effort from Minnesota's Donovan Ezeiruaku, who tallied 1.5 sacks, the Bears' defensive unit held firm to seal the victory.
