In a commanding performance, the Washington Commanders topped the Minnesota Vikings 56-19 in Week 9 of the 2028 season. With this victory, the Commanders solidified their position in the playoff race, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive tenacity throughout the game. Quarterback Kamario Taylor was the standout performer for Washington, throwing for an impressive 470 yards and a staggering eight touchdowns. He found a reliable target in Dont'e Thornton Jr., who racked up 201 receiving yards, creating a lethal connection that the Vikings struggled to contain. The Commanders' explosive offense consistently found ways to capitalize on Minnesota's mistakes, leading to a lopsided score. Defensively, the Commanders were equally dominant, with Nick Herbig leading the charge with five total tackles and four sacks. Payton Wilson made his mark as well, recording four interceptions that turned the tide in Washington's favor. The game's turning point came in the second quarter when Wilson's first interception set up another quick touchdown for the Commanders, effectively putting the game out of reach for the struggling Vikings.
