The Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 28-23 in a tightly contested Week 7 matchup of the 2028 season. With playoff implications looming, both teams fought hard, but it was the Commanders who ultimately came out on top, maintaining their momentum as the season progresses. Kamario Taylor was the standout performer for Washington, throwing for an impressive 335 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to command the offense. Taylor also contributed on the ground with eight rushing yards, but it was receiver Dont'e Thornton Jr. who stole the show, racking up 218 receiving yards and proving to be a reliable target throughout the game. Defensively, the Commanders were led by Payton Wilson, who recorded six total tackles, helping to stifle the Bengals' offensive efforts. The game-changing moment came in the fourth quarter when the Commanders' defense stiffened, forcing a crucial turnover that allowed them to maintain their lead and secure the victory. Despite a strong performance from Cincinnati's Cashius Howell, who tallied two sacks, it was Washington's ability to make key plays when it mattered most that ultimately sealed the win.
