In a commanding performance, the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 48-27 in Week 2 of the 2028 season. With this victory, the Vikings improve their standing early in the season, showcasing their offensive firepower against a division rival. Jordan Travis of the Packers had a standout game, throwing for 331 yards and four touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Minnesota's explosive offense. Tommy Wheatley led the rushing attack for the Vikings with 54 yards, while Kyle Williams emerged as a premier target for Travis, racking up 151 receiving yards. The game highlighted both teams' passing prowess, but ultimately, it was Minnesota's balanced offensive approach that sealed the win. Defensively, Rueben Bain Jr. was a force for the Vikings, recording three total tackles and two sacks, significantly disrupting the Packers' offensive rhythm. The turning point came when Bain Jr. pressured Travis into an ill-timed throw, leading to an interception by Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, which shifted momentum firmly in favor of Minnesota. The Vikings' defense, while not dominant, made crucial plays at critical moments to support their high-scoring offense.
