In a pivotal Week 17 matchup, the Houston Texans topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28-17, solidifying their playoff positioning as the regular season draws to a close. With both teams vying for critical late-season momentum, the Texans emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess. Drake Maye led the charge for Houston, throwing for 213 yards and two touchdown passes that fueled his team's successful offensive attack. Meanwhile, Omarion Hampton of the Buccaneers put on a strong performance on the ground, rushing for 104 yards, and Jon Goode contributed significantly in the air with 98 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Texans' offensive firepower. Defensively, the Buccaneers had standout performances, with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah recording two sacks and Eric Stokes leading the team with six total tackles. However, the turning point came in the second quarter when Maye connected with his receivers for a crucial touchdown pass, shifting the momentum firmly in favor of the Texans. Despite Tampa Bay's efforts to rally, Houston's disciplined defense held strong, ensuring their victory and a step closer to the playoffs.
