In an electrifying season opener, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the Denver Broncos with a final score of 39-24. The victory sets the tone for both teams as they embark on the 2026 season, with the Chiefs looking to build on their championship pedigree while the Broncos aim to bounce back from a disappointing campaign last year. Patrick Mahomes was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for 380 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his elite arm and decision-making throughout the game. Xavier Worthy emerged as his favorite target, racking up 150 receiving yards, consistently finding space in the Broncos' secondary. RJ Harvey provided some ground support for Denver with 82 rushing yards, but it was clear the Broncos' offense was overshadowed by Mahomes' brilliance. Defensively, the Chiefs made crucial plays to maintain their lead, with George Karlaftis recording two sacks that disrupted the Broncos' offensive rhythm. Nohl Williams added a key interception that shifted momentum in Kansas City's favor during the second quarter, effectively turning the tide of the game. Champ Bailey led the Broncos with five total tackles, but it wasn't enough to contain the Chiefs' explosive attack as they celebrated a strong start to the season.
