The New England Patriots opened the 2026 season with a commanding 56-34 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams were eager to start the year on a high note, but it was the Patriots who established dominance early and maintained their offensive firepower throughout the contest. Drake Maye was the star of the show for New England, throwing for an impressive 543 yards and six touchdowns, showcasing his ability to dissect the Seahawks' defense. Meanwhile, Rob Gronkowski proved to be his favorite target, racking up 144 receiving yards and contributing significantly to the scoring barrage. On the ground, the Seahawks' Jadarian Price made a name for himself with a staggering 217 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Patriots' prolific attack. Defensively, the Patriots managed to make pivotal stops, with Erick Hunter securing an interception that shifted momentum back in their favor. Although Seattle's Julian Love had a solid performance with six tackles and two sacks, it was New England's ability to capitalize on key defensive plays that ultimately sealed their victory. The turning point came in the second quarter when Maye connected on a deep touchdown pass, stretching the lead and putting the Seahawks on their heels for the remainder of the game.
