In a dominant display to kick off the 2026 season, the Seattle Seahawks crushed the New England Patriots 58-10. With both teams looking to establish their identity early, Seattle made a statement that they are a force to be reckoned with this year. Sam Darnold was the star of the show, throwing for 288 yards and an impressive five touchdowns. He was well-supported by Jadarian Price, who rushed for 136 yards, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who tallied 103 receiving yards. The Seahawks' offensive line provided Darnold with ample protection, allowing him to exploit the Patriots’ secondary effectively. Defensively, the Seahawks were relentless, with Derick Hall leading the charge with 3.5 sacks. Julian Love contributed with four total tackles, ensuring the Patriots struggled to find any offensive rhythm. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Devon Witherspoon secured an interception, setting up another quick score and effectively putting the game out of reach.
