In a commanding performance, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the San Francisco 49ers 28-0 in Week 16 of the 2026 season. With playoff positioning on the line, the Chiefs delivered a decisive victory that showcased their offensive prowess and defensive dominance. Patrick Mahomes was the star of the show, throwing for 244 yards and four touchdowns, proving once again why he's one of the league's elite quarterbacks. KaVontae Turpin was his primary target, racking up 153 receiving yards and making crucial plays that kept the 49ers’ defense on their heels. Despite San Francisco's attempts to establish a ground game, Christian McCaffrey's 53 rushing yards were insufficient to spark any offensive momentum. Kansas City's defense was equally impressive, led by Jihaad Campbell with six total tackles, effectively shutting down any chance of a 49ers comeback. The game's turning point came early in the second quarter when Mahomes threw his third touchdown, extending the lead to three scores, leaving the 49ers in a deep hole that they could never climb out of. With this victory, the Chiefs solidified their position as a formidable contender as the playoffs approach.
