In a high-scoring shootout, the Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly defeated the New Orleans Saints 56-44 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. Both teams were fighting for playoff positioning, but it was the Steelers who emerged victorious in a thrilling contest that showcased explosive offensive talent. Drew Allar led the charge for Pittsburgh with an impressive 395 passing yards, while Jaylen Warren added a strong ground game with 118 rushing yards. Not to be overlooked, DK Metcalf dominated in the air with a staggering 294 receiving yards, making crucial plays to keep the Steelers ahead. On the other side, Tyler Shough threw for six touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win for New Orleans. The Steelers' defense played a significant role in the outcome, highlighted by Alex Highsmith’s two sacks, which disrupted the Saints' rhythm at key moments. The turning point came late in the game when Highsmith’s pressure forced a hurried throw from Shough, leading to an interception by Kaden Elliss. Although the Saints fought valiantly, the combined efforts of the Pittsburgh offense and defense ultimately sealed the deal.
