The Philadelphia Eagles topped the Houston Texans 31-17 in a crucial Week 16 matchup, solidifying their position in the playoff race. With both teams vying for postseason spots, the Eagles' victory showcased their offensive firepower and defensive resilience as they look to carry momentum into the final stretch of the season. Jalen Hurts was the star of the show, throwing for an impressive 360 yards and three touchdowns, effectively leading the Eagles' high-octane offense. Johnny Wilson also made significant contributions, racking up 111 receiving yards, and providing Hurts with a reliable target throughout the game. The Eagles’ ability to move the ball through the air played a critical role in their commanding performance. On the defensive side, the Eagles made their presence felt, with Eric Stokes recording a team-high seven tackles and VJ Payne causing chaos with two sacks. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Payne’s pressure led to a critical turnover, shifting momentum firmly in favor of Philadelphia. This defensive stand not only halted a Texans drive but also set the stage for the Eagles to extend their lead, ultimately securing the win.
