In a tightly contested matchup, the Carolina Panthers narrowly defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 in Week 12 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams showcased their determination, but it was Carolina that ultimately secured the crucial victory. Bryce Young led the Panthers' offense with an impressive performance, throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns. Chuba Hubbard contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for 64 yards, while the passing game found a reliable target in the form of the dynamic playmaker. Despite the loss, Chris Godwin Jr. stood out for the Buccaneers, racking up 88 receiving yards. Defensively, the Panthers made their mark with Derrick Brown recording a key sack, putting pressure on the Buccaneers' offense throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Panthers forced a crucial turnover, allowing them to maintain their lead and seal the victory. Josiah Trotter's 12 tackles for Tampa Bay kept them competitive, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Carolina's late-game resilience.
