In a critical Week 12 matchup, the Arizona Cardinals topped the Washington Commanders 24-13, bolstering their playoff hopes while dealing a significant blow to Washington’s aspirations. The Cardinals’ victory showcased their offensive prowess, setting the stage for a tense finish to the season. Arizona quarterback Jacoby Brissett led the way with a standout performance, throwing for 294 yards and two touchdowns. His connection with Marvin Harrison Jr. was particularly lethal, as Harrison racked up 113 receiving yards, providing the Cardinals with crucial first downs and scoring opportunities. On the ground, both teams struggled to establish a dominant run game, but Washington's Jacory Croskey-Merritt managed to break through for 102 rushing yards, highlighting the potential of the Commanders' offense despite the loss. Defensively, the Cardinals made key plays to stifle Washington's efforts, with Walter Nolen III recording 1.5 sacks and Max Melton contributing an interception to disrupt the Commanders' rhythm. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Melton’s interception shifted the momentum firmly in Arizona's favor, allowing them to capitalize on the turnover and extend their lead. This defensive stand, combined with their offensive efficiency, solidified the Cardinals' win and kept them firmly in the playoff race.
