In a high-octane showdown, the Dallas Cowboys topped the Washington Commanders 57-42 in Week 2 of the 2026 season, solidifying their claim as a contender early in the race. Both teams entered the game with high expectations, but it was the Cowboys who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive firepower. Dak Prescott led the charge for Dallas, throwing for five touchdowns and demonstrating pinpoint accuracy throughout the contest. Meanwhile, Washington's Jayden Daniels put up impressive numbers of his own, racking up 543 passing yards and keeping the Commanders competitive. Christian McCaffrey contributed effectively with 77 rushing yards, while Jeff Caldwell emerged as a standout with 164 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Cowboys' relentless offensive assault. Defensively, the Cowboys made key plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. DeMarvion Overshown's two interceptions proved crucial, halting Washington's drives and giving Dallas favorable field position. Jailin Walker of the Commanders recorded two sacks, but the Cowboys' defense, led by Caleb Downs with five total tackles, managed to stifle Washington's attempts at a comeback during key moments of the game.
